Melt in your mouth Butter Cookies

Last Friday, the urge to bake some delicious melt-in-your-mouth butter cookies for my kids.
My son, especially, has a soft spot for anything crispy and crunchy, (for e.g. cookies), just like his old man.
So I googled for butter cookies and found this recipe, which I’d tweaked a little to suit my preference.
These were super easy to make, and as expected, my other half and kids just loved it!
Preparation time: 15 minutes
Baking time: 10 – 15 minutes
Makes 50 cookies
Ingredients: A
225g unsalted butter, softened
150g caster sugar
2 tsp vanilla extract / 1 tbsp maple syrup
2 egg whites
Ingredients: B
250g superfine flour, sifted.
60g wholemeal flour
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp cream of tartar
a pinch of salt
chocolate chips for decoration
How-to:
1. Preheat your oven to 180C and line your baking tray with baking paper.
2. Ingredient A: Cream the butter and sugar till light and fluffy. Then add in vanilla and eggs, then mix well.
3. Put ingredient B in a bowl.
4. Gradually whisk ingredient B into ingredient A, mix well.
5. Scoop a teaspoon of mixture onto your baking tray. Leave some space between each scoop, about 2 inches. The cookies will expand.
6. Bake at 180C for about 10 to 15 minutes till golden brown. Remove from oven and leave to cool on the wire rack.
